Salt Lake, South Australia
Canon EOS 400D | EF 18-55mm | 1/100sec | f20 | Hoya CPL Circular Polarizers are made for skies like this! Not sure what a polarizer does? Check this out [link] This place was blinding. Outback australia it hot and bright at the best of times - nevermind when the sun gets you twice - once on the way down and again when it's reflected back up. Apparently the salt is carried in the wind for hundreds of miles from the east and west coasts where it dissolves and falls in the rain. Years of drought and scorching heat soon dry out the lakes, leaving these bright salt beds that sometimes stretch for miles. Pretty impressive sight!! www.garyannettphotography.com |

did you take the foto again without the filter?
I'd love to see the difference.

I know what polarization actually does because I learned it.
But using it is totally different.
A friend of mine laughed at me, when I told him I want to buy a polarisation filter; he did not get it.
But your example shows very well, what is possible.
